JEFFERSON COUNTY FAIR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Jeffco Fair, Inc., dba Jefferson County Fair, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation run by a group of volunteers whose main goal is to hold a successful annual fair.  We do not have any paid staff, and all of the proceeds from our fair go back in to our scholarship program, donations to youth organizations, or back in to the fair to make it bigger and better the next year.

Jefferson County Fair is always in need of more volunteers.  We have various volunteer levels where a person can get involved.

Volunteer levels:

-          Elected Board Member

-          Sub-Committee Leader

-          Sub-Committee Member

-          General Volunteer

Elected Board Member:

There are four elected board positions on the fair committee.  President/Chairman, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Each year we hold elections for each elected board position.  To be eligible for one of these positions you will need to be involved as a volunteer at another level for at least one year.

Sub-Committee Leader:

We have many Sub-Committee positions available and we are creating more as we grow.  The Sub-Committee chairman is responsible for a piece of the fair, ie. vendors, events, rodeo…  Each Sub-Committee chairman can create their own committee, and hold their own meetings to organize their area of responsibility.  This is a leadership role and a great opportunity for someone to show their talents and creativity with their own team.

Sub-Committee member:

Sub-Committee members can join a sub-committee that appeals to them.  We have several establish sub-committees and we always need to add members.  You will be assigned various important pieces by the Sub-Committee Leader to help with that particular portion of the fair.  You can join multiple Sub-Committees if you choose.

General Volunteer:

The General Volunteer position is a necessary and vital piece to help us run during the actual fair.  The general volunteer will be assigned a day(s) and time(s) to be at the fair and will be assigned specific important tasks to keep the fair running smoothly.  Some of the areas that we will need General Volunteers are, staffing booths, fairgrounds cleanup, staffing events, etc.
